An interview article featuring Futamata has been published in the “Japan Creative Studio Visit” series, a collaborative project between China’s “Juanzong Books” and “Wallpaper China Edition.” The series focuses on visiting 15 Japanese studios in the fields of design, art, publishing, and architecture.

We have updated information on new product “DRIP POD YOUBI“, released by UCC UESHIMA COFFEE CO., LTD. and product designed by Futamata.

UCC UESHIMA COFFEE CO., LTD. has released “DRIP POD YOUBI”, a capsule drip coffee machine designed by Koichi Futatsumata.

The exhibition “Digging through E&Y｜Vol. 2: Koichi Futamata” will be held at the gallery of Osaka-based jewelry label ATAKA.

“Digging through E&Y｜Vol. 2: Koichi Futamata” will be held at ATAKA from August 5 to 13, 2023.
This exhibition explores Koichi Futamata’s interest in function and formative beauty, which has led him to work on a wide range of designs from architecture to products. In addition to works from E&Y’s collection, such as “No.8” and “GO,” the exhibition will also showcase some of his influences, such as the “Latonda Chair” by Swiss architect Mario Botta, which Futamata says was inspired by his formative work.

During the exhibition, some of the works will be available for order at the ATAKA venue and online store from August 5 to August 23.

In addition to its activities as a jewelry label, ATAKA has been holding exhibitions of products and artworks created by various designers of all ages and nationalities, based on its own experience of being fascinated by the power of design and art. This exhibition focuses on three designers, Yuri Suzuki, Koichi Futamata, and Max Lam, who have released collections from E&Y. The exhibition will be held in three sessions, one for each month from July to September.

The exhibition will be centered on E&Y’s collections, and will be structured to allow visitors to confront and deeply examine each piece of work by displaying the influences of each designer.
